Cap Sciences, France
Cap Sciences is a centre for scientific, technical and industrial culture founded in 1995 in Bordeaux, Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. For over 25 years, Cap Sciences’ mission has been to disseminate science, technology and innovation culture to as many people as possible, ranging from distant rural areas to deprived urban districts. In 2019 a specific staff position of “Social Inclusion and Innovation leader” was created to raise awareness among the team about these topics.

VSC network : Netherlands sciences centers network
VSC is a Dutch network gathering 40 science centres and science museums that count together over 5 million visitors a year. VSC aims to represent and connect all people working in the Netherlands in the science communication field, contributing to the improvement and professionalization of the field by sharing knowledge among its members, and promoting cooperation projects. VSC has recently focused its activities on diversity and inclusion with the project “Samen Inclusief”, aimed at building more inclusive and accessible institutions.

Centro Ciência Viva do Algarve, Portugal
The Algarve Interactive Science Museum is a non-profit private association whose principal missions are education based on scientific knowledge and scientific and technological communication. It promotes activities to stimulate people’s interest in scientific and technological culture, addressing especially young people. The CCVAlg also participates in science and communication projects, produces temporary exhibitions, science fairs and cafés, as well as indoors and outdoors scientific activities for scholar groups. In the last 5 years, special attention has been given to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in its mission and activities.

Municipality of Reggio Emilia – Civic Museums, Italy
The Civic Museums gather museums, monuments and exhibition centres of the city of Reggio Emilia, a medium-sized city located in the Emilia-Romagna Region. The Civic Museums have been involved by the local administration in several projects on social inclusion and representing the values of Reggio Emilia, a “city of people” which considers diversity as an educational, economic, social and cultural resource for its citizens and focuses on the centrality of the human person and therefore of the principles of equality, non-discrimination, equal opportunities and inclusion for all.

Université Catholique de l’Ouest, France
Founded in 1875, the French Catholic University of the West is a key player in higher education and research today. UCO will be involved in this project through researchers from LIRFE (Interdisciplinary Research laboratory on Life Issues in Training and Education) and CHUS (Centre of Research on Humanities and Societies) research units, specialized in mediation, transmission and uses in the cultural sector. The research team uses a communicational and sociological approach to devices, processes and audiences, and also deploys specific empirical tools tailored to cultural issues: quantitative surveys, interviews, observation, and socio-semiotic analysis.
